Although strict measures which were implemented early on in the COVID-19 pandemic secured Cayman against the high rates of community transmission witnessed in other countries, these measures meant that students and teachers were plunged into remote learning with little notice. Then, when COVID did make it's way into our community in October 2020, schools were disrupted by partial or full closures and extended absences of staff and students. The Office of Education Standards conducted one-day Thematic Visits to each compulsory school to have a look at how Cayman's educators and families responded to the demands of this unprecedented time.
You can read each of the Thematic Report 2022 letters to find out what was discovered at each school. Also, you can read the National Report on the response to the pandemic in schools.
