Who is inspected - All (government and private) schools and early years centres are required to have regular full inspections. This includes further or vocational colleges and sixth forms.
Frequency of Inspection - OES is required to inspect at prescribed intervals all schools on the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac & Little Cayman). The law usually requires a full inspection to be carried out every 4 school years. However, the Minister for Education requires full inspections to be done once every 2 school years.
Other types of inspection/visit may occur within this time frame as required.
Full inspections run in cycles as it takes approximately 2 years to cover all schools and early years centres across the islands.
